Indicator

% of planned protection monitoring visits completed on schedule

Definition & calculation

Numerator: Number of protection monitoring visits carried out on or before their planned date during the reporting period

Denominator: Total number of protection monitoring visits scheduled in the workplan for the reporting period

Divide the number of scheduled protection monitoring visits completed by their planned date by the total number of visits planned for the period, then multiply by 100.

Formula: (Numerator ÷ Denominator) × 100

Means of verification

Protection monitoring workplan, visit schedules and field mission reports

Interpretation

Direction: Higher is better

Typical reporting frequency: Per activity cycle / continuous

Guidance & common pitfalls

Tracks timeliness of the monitoring process, not the findings or coverage of protection risks; a visit counts only when completed on or before its planned date. Useful for spotting access constraints or capacity gaps that delay planned field presence.

This library is a curated reference to adapt, aligned generically with recognised humanitarian frameworks (Sphere, cluster registries, IASC, CHS and others). It is not an official indicator registry — always use the exact indicator definitions your donor or cluster requires.
