Definition & calculation
Numerator: Number of surveyed MPCA recipient households whose Food Consumption Score falls in the 'acceptable' category
Denominator: Total number of MPCA recipient households surveyed
Compute the Food Consumption Score from 7-day food group frequency weighted by nutritional value, classify against standard thresholds, and report the share in the acceptable band.
Formula: (Numerator ÷ Denominator) × 100
Means of verification
Household survey, post-distribution monitoring, baseline/endline comparison
Interpretation
Direction: Higher is better
Typical reporting frequency: Baseline, midline and endline (or annual)
Guidance & common pitfalls
Apply context-appropriate thresholds (standard vs. high-sugar/oil consumption) consistently across rounds; FCS reflects dietary diversity and frequency, not intra-household distribution or micronutrient adequacy.
This library is a curated reference to adapt, aligned generically with recognised humanitarian frameworks (Sphere, cluster registries, IASC, CHS and others). It is not an official indicator registry — always use the exact indicator definitions your donor or cluster requires.
