Indicator

% of MPCA recipient households able to meet their priority basic needs after assistance

Definition & calculation

Numerator: Number of surveyed MPCA recipient households reporting they were able to cover their self-identified priority basic needs (benchmarked against the Minimum Expenditure Basket) after receiving assistance

Denominator: Total number of MPCA recipient households surveyed

Assess household ability to meet priority needs relative to the Minimum Expenditure Basket via expenditure recall and self-report during PDM, expressed as a percentage of households surveyed.

Formula: (Numerator ÷ Denominator) × 100

Means of verification

Post-distribution monitoring (PDM), household survey, expenditure/MEB analysis

Interpretation

Direction: Higher is better

Typical reporting frequency: Baseline, midline and endline (or annual)

Guidance & common pitfalls

Anchor to a locally defined and periodically updated MEB; distinguish partial from full coverage of needs and interpret alongside transfer value adequacy. Self-report is subject to recall and courtesy bias.

This library is a curated reference to adapt, aligned generically with recognised humanitarian frameworks (Sphere, cluster registries, IASC, CHS and others). It is not an official indicator registry — always use the exact indicator definitions your donor or cluster requires.
