Denominator: Total number of surveyed households

Score the three HHS experience questions over the recall period (0–6), categorise households, and report the share in the little/no hunger band.

Guidance & common pitfalls

HHS captures severe household food deprivation and is validated for cross-cultural comparison; it is insensitive to milder food insecurity, so pair it with FCS or rCSI for programme monitoring. Treat it as a food-security outcome measured via household survey, not a higher-order impact the programme can claim by sole attribution. Aligned with FAO/Food Security Cluster and IPC guidance.
