Definition & calculation
Count learning spaces (classrooms, temporary learning spaces, child-friendly spaces) constructed or rehabilitated and handed over as functional during the reporting period.
Means of verification
Construction/rehabilitation completion certificates, site monitoring reports, engineer sign-off
Interpretation
Direction: Higher is better
Typical reporting frequency: Monthly or quarterly
Guidance & common pitfalls
Count only spaces completed and functional, not those started. Record whether WASH facilities and accessibility features are included, as an empty structure does not equal a usable learning environment.
This library is a curated reference to adapt, aligned generically with recognised humanitarian frameworks (Sphere, cluster registries, IASC, CHS and others). It is not an official indicator registry — always use the exact indicator definitions your donor or cluster requires.
