Number

Indicator

Number of children and youth enrolled in supported formal or non-formal learning programmes

Definition & calculation

Count unique children and youth registered in supported learning programmes during the reporting period, deduplicated against enrolment records.

Means of verification

Enrolment registers, programme MIS, learning space attendance records

Interpretation

Direction: Higher is better

Typical reporting frequency: Monthly or quarterly

Guidance & common pitfalls

A reach/output count, not a measure of learning. Deduplicate across sites and modalities (formal, accelerated, catch-up, temporary learning centres) so each child is counted once even if participating in more than one.

This library is a curated reference to adapt, aligned generically with recognised humanitarian frameworks (Sphere, cluster registries, IASC, CHS and others). It is not an official indicator registry — always use the exact indicator definitions your donor or cluster requires.
