Indicator

% of supported OTP sites with no RUTF stock-out lasting more than seven consecutive days during the reporting period

Definition & calculation

Numerator: Number of supported OTP sites that experienced no ready-to-use therapeutic food (RUTF) stock-out exceeding seven consecutive days during the reporting period

Denominator: Total number of supported OTP sites during the reporting period

Review stock cards and logistics reports for each site to identify any RUTF stock-out exceeding seven consecutive days, then calculate the proportion of sites with none.

Formula: (Numerator ÷ Denominator) × 100

Means of verification

Stock/consumption records, supply chain reports and facility stock cards

Interpretation

Typical reporting frequency: Monthly or quarterly

Guidance & common pitfalls

A supply-chain readiness measure that directly conditions treatment continuity; define the stock-out threshold clearly and verify paper records against physical stock counts, as records can lag actual availability.

This library is a curated reference to adapt, aligned generically with recognised humanitarian frameworks (Sphere, cluster registries, IASC, CHS and others). It is not an official indicator registry — always use the exact indicator definitions your donor or cluster requires.
