Definition & calculation
Numerator: Number of pregnant women who completed at least four antenatal care contacts during the pregnancy
Denominator: Total number of pregnant women (or expected pregnancies) in the target population during the period
Divide women recording four or more ANC contacts by the total pregnant/expected-pregnant population; align to the WHO 8-contact model where adopted, but always report the threshold used.
Formula: (Numerator ÷ Denominator) × 100

Guidance & common pitfalls
State whether the threshold is ANC4 or ANC8 to preserve comparability. Completion of multiple contacts reflects continuity of care, not just a single point of access.
