Number

Indicator

Number of people who directly participated in or received livelihood support (income-generating activities, skills training, or productive assets)

Definition & calculation

Count unique individuals who received a livelihood intervention (business grant, vocational training, productive asset, or cash-for-work) during the reporting period, deduplicated across activities.

Means of verification

Programme enrolment records, grant/asset transfer records, training registers

Interpretation

Direction: Higher is better

Typical reporting frequency: Monthly or quarterly

Guidance & common pitfalls

Count only direct participants/recipients, not household members who benefit indirectly, and exclude those merely selected or targeted but not yet served. Aligned with Food Security Cluster and IASC output conventions.

This library is a curated reference to adapt, aligned generically with recognised humanitarian frameworks (Sphere, cluster registries, IASC, CHS and others). It is not an official indicator registry — always use the exact indicator definitions your donor or cluster requires.

Turn these indicators into a live logframe.

Build your logframe, set targets, disaggregate results and generate donor reports — all in one connected system. See how Humanitarian Ops handles MEAL end to end. We usually reply within 24 hours.
