Overview
The Global Fund does not accept applications directly from individual organizations. Funding requests are developed at country level by the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) and then implemented by selected Principal and Sub-Recipients.
Grant Cycle 8 allocation letters began issuing in March 2026.
How civil society participates
- Seek representation on the CCM, which must include civil society, faith-based organizations, key populations and people living with the diseases.
- CCMs are required to run a transparent and documented funding request development process open to members and non-members.
- Position your organization as a Sub-Recipient with the likely Principal Recipient early in the cycle.
Practical note
The decisions that determine who gets funded happen during funding request development, months before any grant is signed. Organizations that engage only when implementation begins have already missed the point of influence.
Always confirm eligibility, amounts and deadlines on the donor's own page before applying.
