Overview
Gavi's CSO funding mechanism makes grants directly to civil society organisations reaching zero-dose and under-immunised children — communities missed by previous immunisation efforts through poverty, geography or conflict.
Priority areas
- Increasing immunisation coverage and reducing zero-dose and under-immunised children
- Supporting HPV vaccine roll-out
- Integrating COVID-19 vaccination into routine immunisation
How to apply
Open calls are published on Gavi's funding opportunities page and are tailored to a specific country as and when a call goes live. Applications are submitted through Grantelope, Gavi's grant management system.
Practical note
Because calls are country-specific and time-bound, there is rarely a global window open. Check the funding opportunities page against the countries you work in, and prepare registration in Grantelope in advance.
How much
Grant parameters are set per country call, not globally — the envelope, ceiling and duration appear in each country's call for proposals. Larger grants are aimed primarily at national-level CSOs and global CSOs working in fragile or humanitarian settings. As an indication of scale, a recent Mozambique call made USD 1.6 million available across the country programme.
Always confirm eligibility, amounts and deadlines on the donor's own page before applying.
